Space Wolves (Space Marines) Paint List for Warhammer 40,000

intermediate Space Marines

Nordic grey-blue with fur, runes and ochre details. A Viking look, trickier because of all the different textures.

The Space Wolves have three distinct materials to handle: metal and armour, fur, and skin. Treat them separately. Mechanicus Standard Grey is the official armour base colour.

Recommended undercoat grey — Several priority paints in this army converge on grey.

Tips

Hints for this army
1 Space Wolves armour is grey-metallic, not just grey. Brush some Leadbelcher over it after the grey layer for the characteristic effect.
2 The fur: Rhinox Hide, then Agrax Earthshade, then a Ushabti Bone drybrush, then a light Screaming Skull drybrush. A very realistic result.
3 Skulls and trophies are a must for the Space Wolves: Zandri Dust, Agrax Earthshade and Ushabti Bone.
