Khorne Daemons (Chaos Daemons) Paint List for Warhammer 40,000

beginner Chaos Daemons

Deep red flesh, dirty brass, and hard black contrasts for Khorne daemons.

Prime in black to keep the models deep from the start, then raise the red flesh with two tones before the brass metals.

Recommended undercoat black — Several priority paints in this army converge on black.

Painting order

Recommended steps
1 Prime the whole model in black.
2 Basecoat the flesh with Khorne Red.
3 Apply Brass Scorpion to blades, collars, and brass details.
4 Shade the flesh and metal recesses with Agrax Earthshade.
5 Layer the muscles and raised flesh with Mephiston Red.
6 Paint hooves, horns, and weapon grips with Abaddon Black.
7 Add small Kislev Flesh touches on faces and joints.

Tips

Hints for this army
1 Khorne Red into Mephiston Red on the muscles is usually enough; you do not need elaborate blending here.
2 Keep the brass darker than the flesh so the red volumes stay dominant.
3 Leave a few weapon zones sharply black to break up the wall of red.
